The man at the helm. Jason was born and bred in the Hawkes Bay. With a strong commercial background and a recent history in the rural transport services sector it made sense to get into a start-up that is changing the way that people trade livestock in New Zealand. When Jason is not working you’ll find him galloping around the country with those hounds.
Hamish is the numbers man. A chartered accountant by trade, but also super passionate about providing innovative services to the rural sector. Having being raised on and now overseeing the family sheep and beef farm in Taihape he understands how farms work and what farmers need to make their lives easier, with greater value.
Digby cracks the livestock whip at StockX making sure our marketplace is well fed with livestock. He’s the man out on the frontline in all sorts of weather meeting and greeting our StockX community. He’s also a bit cricket mad, so when he’s not working, you’ll find him pitch side enjoying a crafty or out in the middle trying to take some batsman’s wickets.
Simon and dry humour are like white on rice. Simon comes to StockX by way of Munich, Germany. A passionate and experienced interactive web designer he’s all about creating beautiful, functional websites that make customer experiences online seamless, easy and fun. When he’s not creating beautiful experiences you’ll find him with his family or rocking it out at a Metallica or WIZO gig – lucky us!
A man of many talents and often offering profound insights from left field with comedic timing, Andrew is lead coder extraordinaire here at StockX. Making sure our marketplace is built to work and work well for our customers. When he’s not coding up a storm you’ll find him playing the guitar or pumping some iron at the gym.
Chair Frank has been a CEO for private companies in a variety of industries over the past 12 years. He brings a wealth of company governance, financial and investment experience. Frank is currently running a portfolio of private company relationships including significant East Coast farming interests, he was most recently the CEO of Candida Stationery a $60m trans-Tasman manufacturing business. Frank also assists the NEXT Foundation in its educational philanthropic investments, He is a director and chair of a number of private companies including The MindLab and Orthotic Centre Limited.
Mavis and her family Koro farm Tipuna land, milking 230 cows just east of Dannevirke. Mavis brings real depth of governance, innovation and leadership experience, currently chairing Atihau Whanganui Incorporation, and as Patroness of the Agri Women’s Development Trust. Other roles include board member of HB Rugby Union, Poutama Trust, Nga Whenua Rahui and Wool Industry Research Ltd. Mavis has an MBA from Massey University, attended the 2013 Te Hono Maori Leaders boot camp at Stanford University and continues to receive acknowledgements of her business excellence, the most recent being inducted into the NZ Business Hall of Fame 2017.
Andrew is the fifth generation to farm Tunanui Station, a 1400ha family farm in Sherenden, Hawke’s Bay. In addition to being a farmer, Andrew operates Tunanui Game Birds, a commercial pheasant shoot on his family farm. Andrew is a founding Director of StockX and has served previously as its Chairman.
Ben Todhunter farms Cleardale a 15000 stock unit family property in the Rakaia Gorge. He is a director of The NZ Merino Company a Member of Previous roles include: Vice Chair Mt Hutt College/Lauriston Primary Schools Board of Trustees. Chair High Country Accord. Chair for the South Island High Country Committee of Federated farmers and National Council Member Federated Farmers.
